Emmett and I spent the afternoon exploring Chinatown yesterday, or more appropriately, Little Saigon/Chinatown. It's located in the southern part of Paris, in the 13th arr. Turns out, it looks just like every other Chinatown I've ever been to. Now I know where to go if we ever get a hankering for Vietnamese pho (average price for a bowl was about 6.50 - 7.00EUR -- pricy!) or crispy Chinese duck.

My most exciting find was tropical fruit that I've never or rarely seen fresh outside of southeast Asia. Packages of fresh mangosteen (18 for 8.00EUR), rambutan, longan, durian, jack fruit, lychee, dragon fruit abounded in the Chinese market. I was tempted to buy some, but ultimately decided that I didn't want to risk buying a batch of mediocre fruit.

Uh! You have to at least have one mangosteen for me! I may not be able to wait until Taiwan next year. (do they have that there?)
