By the way, we never properly thanked the people who saw us off at the airport in San Francisco....


Lynna's brother Morgan packed all of our luggage into a mini-van and drove us to the airport. Yes, we managed to make it to Paris with all of that luggage!








David's sister Shirley, her husband Dave, and their two boys Kevin (age 4) and Owen (age 2) drove all the way out to SFO from Oakland. Kevin was still waving good-bye to us as we stood in line to pass through security....


Our good friend Jen Chen took time out of her busy law student schedule to see us off as well.

Having our loved ones there made the 2-hour wait to board the plane pass by very quickly... plus, having other people hold Emmett for a while was a relief, knowing that we'd be holding him for the entire 10-hour flight.
