Haven't posted much about what we've been eating here yet because we've been cooking most of our meals at home. Since we arrived a little less than a week ago, we've made salmon twice and pasta twice; we snack on bread, cheese, prosciutto, roast chicken, and salad, with an occasional splurge on pate; we've picked up sushi and Greek sandwiches to go (nothing like eating meat that's been shaved off a hunk of meat that's been rotating on a spit!); and we assembled a spread of Middle Eastern treats from the farmers' market: baba ganoush, pita, falafel, tabbouleh salad, and some kind of fried pieces of dough with shrimp.
Everyday on our walk, we do treat ourselves to a little sweet, whether it's a couple pieces of chocolate from a local chocolatier or a chocolate croissant or eclair from a local patisserie.
More food photos and descriptions to come...
Emmett's been eating well, too. On our first full day here, we went to one of our local farmers' market, came home and made a big batch of organic baby food store in the freezer: broccoli, eggs, carrots, haricots verts, and sweet potatoes. We've been giving him salmon and yogurt and peeling him plums, grapes, melon, and peaches. The price of jarred baby food here (as far as we've seen) is exorbitant...at least 1.07€ per jar, sometimes more.
